Review:
“The enemy of my enemy is my friend.”
I’ve got to admit—that was a brutal read. By that, I mean that there were things that happened in the story that had me cringing; but I was so fascinated by it all, that I couldn’t look away. Sarah, is a blonde-haired, blue-eyed Jew—who just so happens to run into a man that changes her life. She goes from being on the run, to becoming a spy at a prestigious boarding school for national socialist’s daughters.
The beginning was a bit slow for my tastes. I didn’t feel like anything really started happening until Sarah does start going to the school. It’s there that she encounters girls that gives mean girls a whole new definition. The trials and bullying that Sarah had to deal with were crazy. There’s no other word I could describe it with. Orphan Monster Spy was CRAZY. So why couldn’t I stop reading?
Overall, I thought this was a fantastic read that showed us a us a great point of view during the World War ll era—even it was fictional. I think Killeen was able to bring Sarah’s story to life in a profound and sensitive way. She also made me love the story simply because I loved her determination. If you’re looking for a book with a strong female lead and a story so compelling you feel as if you’re part of the book, then this is for you.

AUTHOR BIO:
Matt Killeen was born in Birmingham, in the UK, back when trousers were wide and everything was brown. Early instruction in his craft included being told that a drawing of a Cylon exploding isn't writing and copying-out your mother's payslip isn't an essay "about my family." Several alternative
careers beckoned, some involving laser guns and guitars, before he finally returned to words and attempted to make a living as an advertising copywriter and largely ignored music and sports journalist. He now writes for the world's best loved toy company, as it wasn't possible to be an X-wing pilot. Married to his Nuyorican soul mate, he is parent to both an unfeasibly clever teenager and a toddler who is challenging his father's anti-establishment credentials by repeatedly writing on the walls. He accidently moved to the countryside in 2016.
