Blog Tour Review: Friction L.D. Davis

~ Synopsis ~

Noa was trampled and nearly killed by hundreds of horny female fans at a concert for a band she didn't even like, but Alden, the bad boy lead singer of the band, saved her from the trampling tramps. Alden is used to getting what he wants, especially women, but Noa can't stand the cocky, pelvic thrusting rock star.

Noa reluctantly becomes friends with the rocker, under one condition: He promises not to try to have sex with her. But he didn't promise that he wouldn't do other things. Alden's musically talented fingers are capable of playing more than just a guitar...

Reluctantly Noa goes on a fundraising music tour with Alden's band Friction. She soon begins to realize there is more to the rocker than sex, music, and his arrogance. But by spending time with one of the biggest superstars in the world, Noa finds herself in the spotlight, illuminating secrets she thought were hidden forever.

~Review~

Friction was an okay rock star story. I didn't hate it but I also didn't love it.

The story starts off with Noa and her best friend at a concert for the band, Friction. The lead singer, Alden, is the epitome of a womanizing bad boy and Noa wants nothing more than to leave the concert. After all, who wants to watch an egotistical, cocky bastard prance around with no shirt? So what if he is insanely hot. When Noa nearly gets trampled to death, she wakes up to none other than Alden Breck himself. Of course, she's supporting injuries while meeting him. It sure doesn't help her like him!

The first encounter from there is awesome. I loved the banter between the two leads because you can practically feel the chemistry between the two jumping off the pages. It was all endearing until it wasn't anymore. I found that Alden got on my nerves, a lot. One instance was when Noa went out to eat with an old friend who happened to be a guy, and Alden shows up and basically announces that he made Noa orgasm... Twice. And he also blurted out that he made her squirt. It all went downhill for me from there. That to me was a HUGE turn off and I would have been beyond pissed that someone would say something like that to anyone, let alone a friend. And we all know why he did it in the first place, to claim his ownership. Yeah, no thanks!!

After that incident, I just couldn't help but roll my eyes at the romance but I was still able to stay engaged in the story. I can't help it, the whole rock star falls for the only girl who doesn't fall at his feet won't ever get old; to me at least. I think it's just because I love rocker romances even if they take a turn that makes me dislike some things. I think the back story to Noa was very interesting and even if she might annoy you in the beginning, you'll see why she acts the way she does.

Overall, even if the male lead turned me way off, I think you should still give this book a chance. There were moments that made the book worth sticking to!

2.5 stars

 ~ Excerpt ~

“You’ve been trying to control me since the concert,” I said as I snatched my bag off the back of my chair. “You didn’t like that I didn’t like you, so you were going to try to proselytize me into liking you by kissing me.”
Amusement twinkled in his eyes and a corner of his mouth pulled up. “Proselytize?”
“I am not halting my rant to explain to your tiny brain what proselytize means,” I snapped. “While I was unconscious, you went through my phone! You put yourself in my phone, like you assumed that I would ever want to call you.”
Alden sat back in his chair and casually crossed his arms across his chest. I tried not to let my eyes linger too long on the tattooed muscles.
“Do you know how many women would gladly go through what you did to get my phone number?” he asked smugly.
“Trust me, Breck, I’m not one of them.
