Blurb:
 Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
Life can be messy,
And love can be too.

Most people say that it’s not important where you’re going, but instead, how you get there.

Unfortunately for me, the journey to love was absolutely agonizing. Love and Hate wrestled with my life day after day, year after year, and the only way to stop it was to let one of them win.

Which one?

I fought to love harder. But I loathe my love story.

My Review:
"For most of us, sadness is only a part of a tunnel-dark and desolate but indisputably finite."
Excuse me while I go cry and cry on my bed. Happy tears, sad tears, just tears of all emotions. This was beautiful! It broke my heart, it healed it, it broke it again...

That's exactly how I felt right after I finished the book. My goodness, I have such mad love for it. I was just cruising on Facebook like I usually do, when I saw that the author was offering up ARCs. I liked the cover and decided to review based on that. I know, I know...never judge a book by it's cover, blah, blah blah. I couldn't help it, I mean just look at it!! Anyways, I still read the synopsis and it had me even more intrigued.

Imagine my surprise when I started the book and couldn't stop. My fingers couldn't swipe at my iPad screen fast enough.

Whitney was badass. I don't know how else to describe her. She is independent and doesn't need a boy to feel complete. In fact, she knows she's not that type of girl and she never will be.

"I wasn't the type of girl who needed a man. And I never would be."

See, she doesn't need a man! And that's okay. That is until she meets Blane...

Blane was such an amazing character. His personality is charming...so charming that he pushed himself into the man-hater's life; more like barged in. That was just the type of person he was. The kind that didn't give a crap and if he wanted to be your friend, well dammit he was going to be your friend.

"Blane Hunt lived life hard and loved harder."

Whitney and Blane are best friends; they're inseparable. Until the day they weren't anymore. They became distant when a traumatic situation happens between them and their best friend, Franny. The more they don't talk, the farther and farther they go from being able to repair what was damaged.

Years later, the two former best friends, run into each other in the most unexpected places. Their reunion was quite funny and dramatic. Kinda like most of the book; it was such an emotional roller-coaster. Anyways, fate is a funny, funny thing. So are second chance type romances, I mean often can that happen?

I believe that Whitney's grandmother was the one who stole the whole show. She made me weep like a baby, laugh out loud, and re-read her words of wisdom because they were just that good. I love how close her and Whitney; the relationship is simply beautiful. Hate: A Love Story, will hit you with all the feels possible. I can't tell you how many times my heart shattered from sorrow.

"I've never been able to let you go, and I'm not gonna start now."

Overall, this is a powerful book that deserves to be read. The angst, the drama, the love, the hate, everything... Everything about the book was all that I look for in a story and more. I don't want to say anymore because this is just the type of book that you have to experience for yourself. Beautiful. I loved it so much!

"The intensity of grief may fade over time, but it never goes away."
