ARC Review: Mayhem (Mayhem #1) by Jamie Shaw

Publisher: Avon Impulse
Expected Publication Date: January 20, 2015
Genre: New Adult, Rockstar Romance
Source: E-ARC (Edelweiss)
Rating: 5 Stars

Synopsis:
When college freshman Rowan Michaels meets gorgeous, up-and-coming rock star Adam Everest, she knows a player like him is the last thing she needs after her ex-boyfriend shattered her heart. But she can't stop thinking about the kiss they shared on his tour bus.

On the first day of school, Rowan is stunned when Adam saunters into her French class. He's soon failing miserably, and, on a whim, she offers to tutor him. But Adam doesn't recognize her as a makeup-free, glasses-clad college student—a far cry from the beautiful, mysterious "Peach" he met at his concert.

During a wild weekend on tour with the band, Rowan can't help falling for the sweet guy buried beneath Adam's rocker persona. Yet she knows she could never compete with the girls constantly throwing themselves at his feet. She'd just end up hurt … again.

Peach is all Adam thinks about, though, and when Rowan realizes this, she has a decision to make: stay just friends to protect her fragile heart … or reveal the truth about the night they met and admit she's fallen completely, hopelessly in love with him.

Review:
5 STARS

I LOVE rockstar romance stories so much; I love them even more when they have the perfect touch of romance and a good story line. From the outside looking in, this may seem like your typical rockstar falls for 'regular' girl scenario, but it's truly so much more than that! I was engrossed in the story from the first page until the very last. I was taken into another world full of witty banter, sexual tension galore, and a pretty freaken sweet ass lead singer.

What happens when you're out at night with your best friend having a good time then you look up and see your boyfriend with another woman? Oh, that's easy! You go find yourself a rocker boy to mend your broken heart. Rowan is gutted when she catches her boyfriend at the same club as her after he told her he was working that night. She runs out the back of the club and completely breaks down. That's when Adam Everest, the lead singer of an up-and-coming band, shows up and offers to help her forget the douche bag that cheated on her. But Rowan isn't that type of girl. You know the one, a groupie? Plus, she doesn't do one night stands. So instead of sex, she settles for kissing the hell out of Adam. All the while he calls her, Peach. When Adam is on stage performing, Rowan decides to slip out and put the night behind her.

She thought it would be the last of Adam until she sees him in her French class at school. Only, he doesn't recognize her! It's a good thing, right? It's not like she wants a boyfriend or anything. He's a player anyways with girls always surrounding him. So, she decides to forget about him. Until one day when Rowan helps Adam out of a major pickle by offering to become his French tutor. By doing this she has agreed to go on tour with the band for a weekend. Guess what? Adam doesn’t know that she is Peach, and she’d like to keep it that way!

This was such a fun story to read. There wasn’t ever a dull moment and I fell in love with ALL the characters. I look forward to seeing them in future installments that Jamie writes. I hope we get more of them! I’m going to miss being in Rowan’s head because she’s quirky and cool. I can definitely see why Adam likes her so much! Do yourself a favor and pick this book up now!!
