Review:

My goodness! After that whirlwind of an ending with Sins and Needles, I'd quickly wondered what in the world kept me so long from reading it. We all know how the story ended; with Ellie making a choice. A sacrifice of sorts to save the man she loves.

Shooting Scars starts right where we left off. Except this time we get to be in Camden's head. Beautiful, tattooed, and pierced...how can you not love him? Not only is he all of those things I just listed but he's more. He'll do anything to save Ellie. Even though he knows it's not a good idea, he loves her and wants to protect her any way he can.

Camden finally meets the mysterious Gus and together they form a plan to get Ellie back. Meanwhile, Ellie is in Javier's clutches. I'm a bit mixed when it comes to him. At times I want to say I like him because he's so freaken charming that I just can't help it. Then, there are times that I'm like, why did you ever love him, Ellie? But then I just go back to my first point of him being charming and then I can totally see why Ellie fell for him.

There's so much that happened in this book! I just want to shout it out from the rooftops and I can't because you need to be able to read it and all its glory yourself. The action is phenomenal, the romance aspect is hotter than hot; I mean Ellie has two men fighting for her love.

Love triangle, anyone? No, really. It's not that bad at all! Two sexy men who want me...let's just say I wouldn't be complaining. And I'm obviously Team Camden but Javier definitely has his moments.

Karina Halle's characters are well developed and all around great. Even Javier. They aren't perfect by any means, but they don't need to be. It makes them more real in a sense. I, for one look forward to the third book!

 Synopsis:
Ellie Watt is used to starting over. The daughter of a grifting team, Ellie spent her childhood being used as a pawn in her parents' latest scam. Now she’s much older, wiser and ready to give her con artist life a rest. But returning to the dry desert town of Palm Valley, California means one more temptation than she bargained for – Camden McQueen. Once known as the high school weirdo, Camden is bigger and badder than the boy he used to be and a talented tattoo artist with his own thriving business. Ellie’s counting on Camden still being in love with her but what she’s not counting on is how easily unrequited love can turn into obsession over time. When Camden discovers Ellie’s plan to con him, he makes her a deal she doesn’t dare refuse, but her freedom comes with a price and it’s one that takes both Ellie and Camden down a dangerous road.

***The Artists Trilogy is a dark and sexy contemporary ride about three flawed individuals caught in a world where it's so easy to justify the bad things we do. This is a pure adult read (Not YA or NA).

This is the 1st book in the trilogy. It is followed by the novella On Every Street (released in March 2013) and the sequel Shooting Scars (released in May 2013). The third and final book in the series will also be released October 15, 2013.***
